Punctuality is extremely important and students are expected to arrive at the scheduled time. Based on this expectation teachers plan their day. Children also need time to settle down before the day’s activities begin. We realise that unavoidable circumstances may delay you occasionally but we request that you make sincere efforts to be punctual.
If you are going to be late kindly inform us. Children arriving more than fifteen minutes early will not be allowed into the environment as teachers need this time to organise themselves for the day. In the event that you are early kindly wait outside with your child till we are ready to receive him/her.
Drop off will be at the main door of the school. One of us will be waiting at the door to welcome and receive your child. Send off is done either from the main door or from the exit on the right side of the building. Parents will be informed about the pick up point for their child.
You are requested to get in touch with our Communications Officers if you know you will be late to pick up your child. This is important as one of us has to stay back with him/her and also extend the necessary reassurance until you arrive.
Please do not stop/park in front of the gate or cause traffic jams. Your cooperation will be appreciated in this regard. After ‘pick-up’ parents/guardians are responsible for their children while remaining on the school premises. Always keep your child by your side and never allow him/her to run ahead, especially out of the gate.

Please call our communications officers whenever your child will not be attending school, coming in late and/or leaving school early. In case of long absences please send a letter accordingly, addressed to the Principal.
Regular attendance is extremely important for every child’s development. Although each child works at his/her own pace, consistency is a key factor. Irregular attendance disturbs the child’s routine and comfort level at school. In some cases, circumstances may require the Principal or Academic Coordinator to plan a schedule for a particular child which is different to the usual routine. This would be reviewed on an individual basis depending on the child’s need and or adjustment in settling down. In a Montessori environment we believe that regular attendance is essential to achieve the independence and adjustment desired for growth.
Montessori materials are very attractive and are there to be used by all children. Sometimes children find them so attractive that pieces of apparatus get invited home! Should this happen please return them on the following day. They could be part of a set. |

If your child is ill or unable to take part in normal school activities please do not send him/her to school. Recovery is quicker at home and infection of other children and adults at school will be avoided. The school is not equipped to care for sick children.
If a child becomes unwell after coming to school, his/her parents will be contacted for him/her to be picked up.
If a child requires immediate medical attention, the school must be able to reach a parent at any time during the course of the day. Please be sure to keep your child’s ‘Information Form’ up to date and inform the office immediately if there is any change in address, telephone or mobile numbers during the academic year.

Personal belongings (clothing etc) which are brought to school should have the child’s name written clearly on them. As we encourage independence and self-sufficiency, we request parents to send their children to school in comfortable clothes and shoes they can put on /take off themselves. Kindly do NOT send your child to school wearing expensive jewellery such as gold chains and dangling earrings. We cannot be responsible for the care of such items. A basket is kept near the main entrance of the school for ‘lost & found’ clothing/water bottles/snack boxes. Such belongings that are not claimed after some time may be kept as extras for children at school or donated to people in need.

We have “Communications officers” for the Morning and Afternoon Sessions. You may contact them regarding extension/reducing of work timings for your child, birthdays, need for specific meetings, lost/misplaced items, illness etc. The mobile numbers for these officers will be given to you according to your child’s session when he/she starts attending school.

Each birthday is a special milestone! You may want to celebrate the occasion in school by sharing cake or other eatables during Snack Time. You could speak with us prior to your child’s birthday regarding this. However we do not permit balloons, hats, whistles etc and no return Gifts. The birthday child could gift an age appropriate book to the school library. This is not compulsory but it has special meaning for the birthday child.
We value meaningful communication and interaction with our parents. Parent Teacher meetings are organised twice a year and written reports are given at the end of the academic year. Please feel free to ask questions or discuss anything related to your child’s progress. However, we ask parents to understand that the teacher’s responsibility during school hours is to the students. If you wish to meet your child’s teacher other than during the arranged meetings please contact our communications officers and leave a message. We will get back to you. Parents may request a meeting or the teacher concerned may schedule additional meetings if necessary.
Smoking is not permitted on the Head Start premises.
