Founded in 1984, Head Start Montessori House of Children is an independent school run by the Head Start Educational Trust. A member of the Indian Montessori Centre and the Indian Montessori Association, it offers a pre-primary programme for children aged 2 ½ to 6 years and a Primary Programme for children aged 6 and above. Head Start addresses the unique issues of today's children. Educational methods and materials are firmly rooted in the spirit and philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.

Head Start has an enthusiastic and dedicated group of Montessori teachers. Each environment has two Montessori Adults who hold degrees from the Association Montessori Internationale, the Indian Montessori Centre, Indian Montessori Association or the London Montessori centre. Adults are committed to the CHILD, working with, growing with and sharing his/her sense of curiosity and wonder. Faculty members further their own professional training through workshops and continued education.

management of the school
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the financial management of the school and takes all policy and financial decisions. Decisions related to the educational programme and faculty are made by the Principal in consultation with the academic and teaching staff.
